What can I do to support and maintain my health?
I recommend to many of my patients to consider taking up yoga and make it part of their lifestyle. It complements and helps maintain the work I do as an osteopath so your body - and mind - can regain strength, freedom and mobility. If, on the other hand you are unable to do your yoga practice due to aches or pains, please do come and see me so that I may help release any physical restrictions and get you back to your practice quickly.
I recommend to start with, or complement your normal practice, with Iyengar yoga. It is my strongest practice for mastering the correct alignment for all yoga poses. Being able to align yourself correctly in each yoga pose, regardless of which type of yoga you do, will maximise the benefits you gain from each session wherever and however often you do it. Make it count. Please contact my trusted Iyengar yoga teacher Inbal directly at inbalgattyoga@gmail.com or visit www.yogabetweenthecommons.com.
I would also strongly recommend the practice of Qi Gong and/or Tai Chi with my great teacher Derek Pearce at the Mei Quan Academy. Qi Gong and Tai Chi have given me a wonderful opportunity to work on my confidence with fluid body movements. Just like yoga, it is a practice for longevity! It helps improve balance, coordination, focus and stillness within. Training takes place in person with a wonderful, consistent and supportive group of people which naturally become friends over time, or online. Derek can be contacted on 07957 430 145 or visit the Mei Quan Academy directly at https://taichinews.com.
